WamblyGrain Consulting offers guidance and strategic direction on designing and implementing robust informatics and storage/processing systems for your Compound Management group. Our client engagements range from providing comprehensive evaluations of existing processes as a crucial “sanity check”, identifying the small changes that can have substantial impacts on operational efficiencies and overall outcomes, all the way to the high-level detailed design of laboratory workflows, instrumentation, and storage systems and associated informatic infrastructure.
Gregory Wendel has been a leader for over 25 years in Automation and Compound Management for the biotech\pharmaceutical industry.
In his most recent role as the Head of Compound Management at Novartis in Cambridge, he led a team of 15 engineers and scientists with collective accountability for developing and implementing a global Compound Management infrastructure. This infrastructure supported a library exceeding 2 million compounds, handled hundreds of new entity submissions daily, and processed thousands of sample orders every week.
Prior to Novartis, he led the team which established the Compound Management group at the Broad Institute in Cambridge, MA, bringing in automated Sample Stores and processing systems, integrating those into the informatic systems for a smooth transition from compound request to experimental data.
Gregory has been an engaged contributor to SLAS, serving in various Special Interest Groups. He was co-founder of the Automation Quality Control group, has co-chaired the Sample Management group at conferences and presented at the SLAS Sample Management Symposia. He is on the Executive Committee of LRIG-New England, serving as Treasurer for the past 8 years.
